A face with two hands, hands moving at a steady pace.
Running alongside our life. Steady trotting along...tick tock, tick tock.
For some reason, my pace varies.
School, HS graduation, college, marriage, kids, career...
They all move along...Some moments are fast, some moments are slow
But the face with two hands steadily moves on...tick tock, tick tock.
It's passed me by along my route and I didn't know it.
Then I look behind and see my kids. Once crawling, now teens.
I look behind and see loved ones. Once here, now gone.
I look behind and see myself. Once carefree and young, now grateful and older.
Missed out on so much. Didn't say what I could've said.
Didn't do what I could've done.
Because I didn't keep pace with the face with two hands.
I have to be aware how bad I've been out of shape.
My pace has to match the tick.
My actions have to match the tock.
Keeping up with the face with two hands helps me have no regrets.
Let me tell the face with two hands at the finish line I lived life to the fullest.
